There I was, sat at my home workstation reflecting on life……

It hasn’t been an easy journey getting here. Through growing up, the teenage years, getting through school, making career decisions, marriage, motherhood, women(girls) have to overcome so many hurdles. I thought about how I overcame most of these hurdles with help from my squad(my mum, friends, sisters, aunties e.t.c). I thought of the many girls who do not have a squad and how hard pulling through must be for them and how I could help them.

The answer I came up with was Girl Tribe Squad, a community of girls that would support girls from all backgrounds overcome the hurdles on their path to achieving their dreams; a community of girls supporting girls. We would do this through

• awareness campaigns on issues affecting girls/women
• mentor-ship programs
• education grants for girls to pursue their dreams
• regular meetups to build a strong community
